  • AutoCAD users can download Oce Client Tools below. An easy way to get files into a print ready format.
  • QuarkExpress for Macintosh –large & small format color output.
  • Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator and Pagemaker - preferred file formats for printing are .tif, .pdf, , or .eps files.
  • Microsoft Office Applications
  • Océ Reprodesk Software – accepts CAD file formats including .pdf, .plt, & bitmapped .tif files.

Options for sending print ready CAD files from Archicad & Autocad

  1. Send .pdf files
  2. Send .plt files

    Instructions for creating .plt files.

  • In Autocad or Archicad go to the file menu.
  • Open the Plotter Manager.
  • Go to the printer pull down menu showing all the plotter drivers installed on your system.
  • Scroll down the list and choose the HP Designjet family. Recommended drivers are the HP Designjet 650 and 750c. However many architects have made .plt files successfully with other drivers from the HP Designjet family.
  • Print to file using the newly selected driver. This option should be available from the print window.
  • Newly saved .plt files should be e-mailed for print submission to aspenrepro@comcast.net

Downloadable Printer Drivers

A second option for making print ready files is to download the HP DesignJet 650c or 750c drivers. Having installed one of these drivers and choosing the driver from your plotter configuration manager from within AutoCAD or ArchiCAD will allow you to “print to file” using the HP DesignJet device to save your file as a .plt file. Once you have all the .plt files you need for printing e-mail the job to aspenrepro@comcast.net with job instructions.

Newer versions of AutoCAD / ArchiCAD may have preinstalled the HP Designjet 650c or 750c printer driver used to convert your files to the .plt format. Many of the HP Designjet series drivers have worked successfully to convert .dwg files to the .plt format.
